VISTA JOB OPPORTUNITY

Work for FAN's Hope Not Handcuffs Initiative as Part of the 2021-2022 Recovery Corps Program!

The Police Assisted Addiction and Recovery Initiative (PAARI) was founded alongside the Gloucester (Massachusetts) Police Department Angel Initiative in June of 2015 and has grown into a movement of over 600 law enforcement partners in 39 states. This program places AmeriCorps VISTAs to help build, strengthen, and sustain police-led programs to reduce and prevent overdose deaths and help more people with opioid use disorder get into treatment and recovery.

PAARI is offering a position with Families Against Narcotics (FAN) in Macomb County, Michigan, working with FAN's Hope Not Handcuffs initiative. This position will serve as part of a larger cohort of PAARI National Recovery Corps VISTAs across the entire nation and will work to build and cultivate the capacity of the Hope Not Handcuffs (HNH) base of Angel volunteers; contribute to helping raise awareness of the HNH program throughout Macomb county; and assist with collecting data to monitor and report program effectiveness. Individuals with lived experience with addictions, including those who are personally in recovery, are ideal candidates for these service positions.
